Concept
The Jamaica Typeface is a bold display font inspired by my heritage and the vibrant hand-painted signage seen while traveling from Trelawny to Clarendon. Each sign told a story, reflecting the creativity and resilience of the Jamaican people. This typeface captures that essence, blending raw, handcrafted aesthetics with modern functionality.
Created during my time in Jamaica, it features 212 glyphs and three weights—narrow, regular, and bold—celebrating the charm of local craftsmanship. By designing this typeface, I aim to honour Jamaican artistry and share a piece of my journey. It’s a tribute to my roots and the stories that inspire my work.
